Centers for the Arts

The Centers for the Arts in Bonita Springs is comprised of two separate centers: one for visual arts and the other for performing arts. Both destinations lie in the heart of Bonita Springs and have been welcoming tourists and locals alike for years, starting from humble beginnings in 1959, with Ruth Hardy teaching community art classes. The two sections we know of today were opened in 2000 and 2002.

Today, you can experience exhibits and classes suitable for all ages and all skill levels. Anyone who loves the arts is welcome to come and explore! The Centers for the Arts make it their mission to bring people together through art, encouraging community, self-esteem, and overall fulfillment. Exhibits are constantly changing, so when you return to Bonita Springs, you can visit again and again to always experience something new and exciting. Be sure to visit their website before you come so that you can see what interesting event will be happening during your stay.

Visual Arts

The Center for Visual Arts is dedicated to showcasing some of the most stunning paintings, sculptures, and other visual media. Exhibits feature both local and globally renowned pieces from creators young and old. Rotating exhibits tend to last for about a month (though some can be longer or shorter), and there are various events, receptions, and open houses held throughout the year to help spotlight and celebrate the incredible world of visual art. You can also enjoy the Bonita Springs National Arts Festivals in January, February, and March.

The Center for Visual Arts is located at 26100 Old 41 Road. Gallery and gift store hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Performance Arts

The performance arts side of the Centers is just as dynamic as the visual arts sector, showcasing incredible talent in musicals, comedies, dances, and more. Performances are held all throughout the year and will appeal to everyone. There are both youth and adult theater performances to please all audiences, and late April brings Stage It! 10-Minute Plays if you’re looking for some quick entertainment. Film festivals are another popular event, like the International Film Festival held in February.

The Center for Performance Arts is located at 10150 Bonita Beach Road. Box office hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., as well as one hour before performances. Tickets to performances and festivals can also be purchased on their website.
