Best Beaches Near Bonita Springs, FL

Bonita Springs is bold and beautiful, and a place absolutely worth spending your precious vacation time at. Bonita Springs also neighbors a variety of lovely and quiet beach escapes. Below we cover our top three sand-soaked locales near Bonita Springs. Admire the beach, bring a pet, and have a blast when you stay at any of our Bonita Springs pet-friendly rentals.

Barefoot Beach

South of Fort Myers Beach rests the Barefoot Beach County Preserve, home to quaint trails and lovely little relaxation points by the mangroves. The beach has an interactive walking trail that guides you through the area’s top sights and sounds. You can also spot wildlife, including gopher tortoises, butterflies, and raccoons. The beach and county preserve is also manned by a few patrol guides. They can help answer questions as you explore the area. If you just can’t get enough wildlife and nature in Bonita Springs, this might be your best option!

Most guests park at the main entrance and enter a very short trail before they see the beach proper. If you just want to lounge out by the sand, you certainly can. Keep in mind that there are no amenities. It is just the gulf, the sand, the open sun, and the beautiful Bonita Springs weather. It is also a very quiet family-friendly spot. For example, no coolers are allowed on the beach. If you want to learn more about the area, you can always stop in the on-site visitor center.

Vanderbilt Beach

With a bit more foot traffic than Barefoot Beach and closer proximity to the Naples attractions, Vanderbilt Beach tends to have more going on for beach visitors. The hotels and high-rises act as your backdrop to the east. But they won’t interfere with the broad views of the gulf.

Vanderbilt has a dedicated parking building. You can park here for the whole day for $8. Guests will often stay in the area and visit the numerous beachfront restaurants within walking distance. These include the Turtle Club and the fantastic Ritz.

Amenities include a large restroom, cabana rentals, and some banana boats. Seasonally you may also find jet ski rentals. They are available on-site and no pre-registration is required.

If you are looking for a beach with a little more to do and see in the area, Vanderbilt is your best bet. Parking is easily accessible and dining options right by the beach are plentiful.
